Floral Arrangements  The Church Service

Mothering Sunday is back with us again, and it really does seem like only yesterday that we were gathered here in the Friends Meeting House preparing the 2007 cards. Clearly we have been able to build on last years very successful occasion, proven by the fact that this year we had to run both a morning and afternoon session. Along with our many regular and loyal helpers, it was wonderful to see so many new faces with us this year . A warm welcome and a big thank you to all who came and enjoyed the day.
Mothering Sunday is on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It is often called Mother's Day in Britain. However it has no connection with the American festival which is also known by the same name. On this day children often give their mothers gifts and cards as a way of saying thank you for their hard work. In church, prayers are said for mothers at a special family service.

Tutor, Libby Rodbourn guides Brooke  through the early stages of card making, while Becky adopts her own inimitable "laid back" style

Impromptu rehearsals for the church service later in the week as the younger ones get to grips with the children's song;
"The wise man built his house upon the rock"

Smiles all round as Edward ~ (above right) appears to have decided that enough is enough-!
