Making the cards  :  The Church Service
.
This year we saw a change of venue for the making of the floral arrangements. The social club, not being open on Wednesdays, was pressed into service giving both space and warmth to the occasion. On a personal note, I find it rather refreshing to see facilities such as this being shared and utilized by the various organizations within the village.
The Tutors for the evening were Diana Smith , Anne Phillips and Sally Wright. Wendy Money was also on hand to help the children
As you can see, there was to be no shortage of raw materials for our budding young arrangers to avail themselves of.
(above right) ~ East Garston's two newest bellringers ~ Becky and Jade ~ get to grips with a much quieter art form

Jade works confidently on her arrangement;
........ and Lewis? well there's nothing like a good chunk of shoe when your hungry is there mate-?

At this point, with most of the displays complete, Sally decided there was time for a quick run through of two of the songs that are to be performed in the church on Sunday. Joe, having no further part to play in the evening ~ and with appropriate encouragement from a certain photographer ~ decided to have a go at Potting the Barbie-!
The rehearsals went well and Brooke instigated a second run through of  ~"The Wise Man built his house upon the Rock"
Phoebe however, was having none of it, maintaining total silence and a defiant expression throughout the entire length of the song.
