East Garston batted first and started well,
scoring 20 runs off 4 overs but lost a wicket in the 4th over.
Thanks to top scorers Nigel Gay (25) - Nigel Hayes (25) and
Colin Pounds (23) Garston finished on a total of 162 off their
40 overs.
The Plough finished on a total of 121 runs from their
40 overs. Garston's best bowlers were Pete Stone (3
- 3) , Mike Ellis (3-24), Tom Highnett (2-15) and Nigel
Gay (2-14)

Garston v Greenwich
East Garston won the toss and chose to field
first. Things started well for Garston, taking a wicket in the
first over. However, Greenwich soon recovered from their early
setback and thanks to good batting from Ballantyne (51) and
Ettridge (42), they reached a total of 148 off their 40 overs.
Garstons' best bowlers were Russ Highnett (3-17) Nigel Hayes
(1-24) and Pete Stone (1-21).
In reply, Garston started well, scoring 23 runs off
4 overs. Top scorers - Phil Pounds (37) and Pete
Stone (25) - put Garston on the way to victory,
with Tom Highnett securing the win with a score of (12-
Not Out).

Garston A Team v East Garston B
Team
East Garston got together on the 30th of
September for a fun match in honour of Daniel Lawrence who played
his last game for the club before joining the Army. The A-Team
batted first and started well - scoring 24 runs off 2 overs.
Thanks to good batting from Pete Stone (24) and Daniel
Lawrence (19) - Garston A-team reached a total of 94.
In reply, Garston B-Team started well, scoring 16 runs
off 2 overs. Good batting from Matt Blair (27) and Colin
Pounds (15) made the game a close contest. The outset
of the match saw Garston A-Team win by 11 runs.
After the match, Dan was presented with gift vouchers
from the whole team and everyone wished him well for
the future.

Garston v Hampstead Norreys
East Garston won the toss and chose to bat
first. Things started well for Garston, scoring 19 runs off
3 overs. Thanks to Garstons' top scoring batsmen - Nigel Gay
(25) and Vince Highnett (20) and good scoring from the team
in general,Garston were able to amass a total of 124
Set a target of 125 to win, Hampstead Norreys did not
start their innings well - losing a wicket in the first
over. Good scores from Beverley (39) and Cull
(22) -were not enough to take the match and Hampstead
Norreys ultimately slipped to a 31 run defeat. East
Garstons' best bowler was Russ Highnett (4 - 13)

Garston v The Wanderers
East Garston won the toss and chose to bat
first, things did not start well for Garston as they lost a
wicket in the 2nd over. Garston were eventually bowled for a
total of 50 with Phil Pounds (15) and Nigel Gay (12) top scoring.
It was then the turn of the wanderers to bat, they
started well scoring 16 runs off 3 overs. Wanderers
eased past Garston's total of 50 without a loss of any
wicket, King (23) and Winder (25) top scoring for the
wanderers.

East Garston won the toss and chose to filed
first, things started well for Garston as they took many wickets
in the 4th over but Pallett and Collins showed some resistance
and thanks to Seaton (24) and Jones (19), Pallett and Collins
got a total of 105. Garston's best bowlers were Tom Highnett
(2-17), Dan O'Brien (2-22) and Syam Syamsunder (l-3)
In reply, Garston got off to a good start scoring 17
runs for 2 wickets off 3 overs but thanks to top scorers
Russ Highnett (26) and Dan Lawrence (20), East Garston
showed a bit of resistance but it was not enough as
East Garston could only reach a total of 79 and slip
to a 29 run defeat.

Cold Ash won the toss and chose to bat first,
they started well scoring 26 runs off 3 overs. Top scorers Price
(84) and Ruddh (54) eventually saw Cold Ash reach a total of
192 all out.
Garston's best bowlers were Nigel Gay (3-28), Russ Highnett
(2-31) and Pete Stone (1-6).
In reply, Garston started well scoring 35 runs off six
overs. Top scorers Russ Highnett (50) and Vince Highnett
(40) looked as though they had propelled Garston to
victory but it was a close
finish and were eventually bowled out for 181

Garston v Vodafone
Vodafone won the toss and elected to bowl
first. East Garston looked to continue their fine form with
another win. Things did not start well for Garston who lost
a wicket in the 2nd over and thanks to good batting from top
scorers Russ Highnett (26) and Dan O'Brien and good batting
from the rest of the team, Garston posted a score of 127 off
their 20 overs.
In reply, Vodafone were unable to get on top of the
bowling, continuously losing wickets and were all out
for 80 with Russ Highnett (3-13), Nigel Hayes (2-13
and Dan Lawrence 2-11) the pick of the Garston bowlers.

East Garston won the toss and elected to
bowl first, Cold Ash started well scoring runs off the bat and
after 10 overs, they were 28 runs for no wicket. But with good
bowling from Garston, they posted a total of 82 all out off
their 35 overs. The pick of the Garston bowlers were Nigel Gay
(4-4), Pete Stone (3- 13)and NigelHayes (l-12).

It was then East Garston's turn to bat but things didnot
start well for them as they lost 2 wickets in thefirst
2 overs but good batting by Pete Stone (25) andRuss
Highnett (20) led them to a good recovery leaving them
needing 9 runs off 15 overs but a controversial decision
led to the match being abandoned.

Garston Colts v Sulhampstead Colts
East Garston won the toss and put Sulhampstead
into bat. Garston were still smarting from theirdefeat 4 weeks
ago and were looking for revenge. Good bowling and fielding
meant runs were hard to get which resulted in Sulhampstead having
to swing the bat. Wickets started to tumble and at 23 for 5
it looked all over, but a good partnership of 25 by A. coomes
and J. Leed saw the Sulhampstead Innings close at 72 all out.
Arthur Hayes (3-9),Kapil (2-13), Matt Davidson (2-2) and Tom
Highnett (2-1) the successful bowlers and catches by Ben McKevitt,
Seb Buck, Sam Jubb, Dan Lawrence, a stumping by Will Blackmore
and good fielding by Vig & Keenen saw Sulhampstead's downfall.

In reply, Garston scored steadily but wickets
started to fall. Dan Lawrence (14) and Matt
Davidson (12) helped to steady the innings, but
with 1 over to go, Garston needed 5 runs to win, Kapil
scored 1 run off the first ball thus leaving Will Blackmore
to face who hit 4 runs off the next 2 balls to give
Garston victory.

Woodlands batted first but wickets soon tumbled,
only Phil Hawkins (25) not out showed any resistance and off
20 overs, Woodlands scored 83 with Russ Highnett (3-8) and Tom
Highnett (3-6) best of the Garston bowlers.
In reply, Garston got off to a good start with Dan
Lawrence (14) and Tom Highnett (17) putting on
30 for the first wicket, then a quick 13 by Dan
CTBrien followed by Nigel Hayes (17) not out and Russ
Highnett (20) not out saw Garston to victory with 5
overs to spare.

Greenwich won the toss and chose to field
first, leaving East Garston to bat and set a good total.They
started well scoring runs quite quickly and after 7 overs, Garston
were 39 runs for 1 wicket.Thanks to good batting from top scorers
Nigel Gay (53) and Phil Pounds (52) and the rest of the team,
East Garston posted a grand total of 204 off their 35 overs.
It was
then Greenwich's turn to bat but they soon
lost a wicket in the 2nd over. Their batsmen dug in
and showed some resistance until a brilliant run-out
by Michael Ellis put Garston back on top. The bowlers
then took the upper hand with Tom
Highnett (3-17) : Russ Highnett (2-8) and Vince Highnett
(2-21). Greenwich were all out for 113.

East Garston suffered their first defeat
of the season. The wanderers won the toss and chose to bat first
but good bowling and fielding restricted them to 96 all out
off their 20 overs.
In reply,
Garston wickets soon tumbled and
Michael Ellis (18) was the only batsmen to show
some resistance as Garston ended their innings 63
all out.

Chaddleworth won the toss and put Garston
into bat. Garston faltered early on with the loss of wickets
and by the 6th over were 12 for 2, but thanks to strong performance
in the middle order from Nigel Gay 49, Pete stone 37 and a quick
29 by Dan Lawrence, East Garston totalled 210-9 off their 35
overs.
In reply
Chaddleworth got off to a steady start scoring 35 without
loss from 10 overs. Tom Highnett then came on to bowl
and took a wicket in his first over. Chaddleworth then
collapsed from 36-1 to 73 all out, Tom Highnett taking
5 wickets for 8 runs, and older brother Russell taking
3 wickets for 3 runs.

69 with Daniel Lawrence top scoring on 17.

In reply
the Woodlands lost early wickets and at 44 for 5 the
game looked all over, but good batting from A. Barnes
33, G. Wilkinson 27 and P. Bondell20. Woodlands made
a fight of it before finally losing by 23 runs, with
Nigel Hayes taking 3 for 39, Tom Highnett 3 for 23 and
Vince Highnett 2 for 6.
