East Garston Cricket Club held its 5th Annual General Meeting and Presentation Evening on Saturday 17th November 2007 at Deanwood Golf Course. Chairman Chris Tonge welcomed 32 members and guests and the evening began with the Annual General Meeting at which the committee for the next season was elected. Photos and Text : Dawn Tonge |

A presentation was
made to Russell Highnett to mark his retirement as Captain after
three years. A photograph album of pictures taken of Russell playing
during those three years and a team shirt signed by all the playing
members was presented to him to mark the occasion. It had been
decided that a new position of Honorary President would be created
and presented to Peter Smith of PJS Agricultural to thank him
for his valued support and sponsorship over the last five years.
A framed certificate was presented to him and a bouquet of flowers
to his wife Diana. The evening then continued till midnight with
dancing to an excellent disco. |
