On Friday July 25th the inaugural Presidents XI v East Garston cricket match took place at Woodlands St. Mary cricket ground. Pete Smith (PJS Agrcultural) Ltd. is the president and sponsor of East Garston Cricket Club.
An extremely close and well fought match entertained the spectators on one of the warmer evenings of this summer. The result was uncertain until the last ball had been bowled and was a win for East Garston by 1 run! Peter and Diana Smith very kindly donated a trophy for the match and also an award for best bowler and best batsman. It is hoped this match will become an annual fixture.
An excellent ‘tea’ was appreciated by players and spectators alike in the Village Hall
