Sunday the 2nd of December and the annual village Christmas prize bingo  is upon us once more.  I myself  am not a bingo player in any way shape or form and have - to that end, never been to one of these sessions before.  I have to say that I was quite taken with the seriousness in which the actual game sessions are conducted.  There were in excess of Seventy people in the hall and during the time Danny was calling the numbers - you could have heard a pin drop, it was so quiet.
There was an awesome number of  'line' and 'house' prizes available on the day, including a jackpot prize of £250 worth of travel vouchers. In addition to these, fifty assorted and highly desirable raffle prizes had also been secured for the event.
Things got under way and the silence decended, all eyes were down, concentrating on those elusive numbers. It wasn't too long before we started to see our first winners . The most noticable thing for me was the fact that there were virtually complete families here, all enjoying an afternoon out together.  Not something you see these days on a regular basis.
Some of the patrons did extremely well from the games and the raffle, one group of ladies deciding to make use of part of their prize immediately.
Q Associates donated the Travel vouchers which, in the end were shared by two people. Deana actually had another £50.00 in reserve so they each had £150.00 in vouchers. They were both very happy!

The afternoon was overseen by Deana Carpenter, and raised £663.50 This will be shared between the Club/Village Hall, the Over Sixties Christmas Party and the newly formed "Kids Club".

Equal thanks to all the organisations and individuals that provided support and donations.
