Gift Week Fund Raising - 2007

The closing words from the Revd. Tony Cumberlidge:-
We have had a magnificent week starting with Harvest Festival when 100 adults and children filled the Church for the service and lunch afterwards. We enjoyed interesting sessions each night of the week on topics relating to our Church. A tremendous Children's Service brought 30 children and their parents to the Church, and the Organ Concert was a delight. Sunday morning we celebrated Holy Communion using our 1576 chalice and reflected on the many priests and communicants that had passed this way before.

Now here we are at the end of our week long festival, a finale that features the Church Bells, Madrigals sung by Lambourn Choir from the top of the floodlit tower, and our Songs of Praise. We are tonight in the presence of our honoured guest, The Rt. Revd. Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Reading, where we are giving Thanks for the Life of the Church in East Garston.

We have been thrilled by people joining us from every corner of the parish to participate in these activities. Thank you to everyone for your support, love, generosity and friendship shown - we shall remember this week for a long time.
