President's XI verses East Garston - 2008

 

Best Batsman Sam Jubb (Presidents XI) Mick Highnett collected the Trophy on behalf of the East Garston Team.

On Friday July 25th of July the inaugural Presidents XI v East Garston cricket match took place at Woodlands St. Mary cricket ground. Pete Smith (PJS Agrcultural) Ltd. is the president and sponsor of East Garston Cricket Club. An extremely close and well fought match entertained the spectators on one of the warmer evenings of this summer. The result was uncertain until the last ball had been bowled and was a win for East Garston by 1 run! Peter and Diana Smith very kindly donated a trophy for the match and also an award for best bowler and best batsman. It is hoped this match will become an annual fixture. An excellent ‘tea’ was appreciated by players and spectators alike in the Village Hall Best Bowler was Paul Grace (Presidents VI)  ~ Jim Groves collected his award for him   East Garston - 140 M President's XI  - 139 Fixture Date 25th July 2008 Sponsored by PJS AGRICULTURAL SERVICES Ltd
