Darts Friendly

East Garston Social Club 2008

Tuesday the 9th of December 2008, saw the coming together of two darts teams within the Social Club.
This was to be a friendly between the Ladies' Team and the Mens' team, both of course affiliated to the Social Club.

Shannon opts for Billiards over darts, even though there is a cracking trophy up for grabs.
The two Wendy's  decide the result is a forgone conclusion, and lift the trophy before a dart is even thrown.
Captains Sally Smith and Alan Money were now ready to do battle, but first a point of order was discussed just prior to "Game On"
It looks like Alan is in trouble already. I don't know what the point of order was but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you who won.
With the first leg going (8-2) in favour of the men, Alan confidently predicts a win for his team and enlists Wendy to apply a coat of emulsion in readiness for the presentation of the trophy.
Sally however, has other ideas
The youngest on the ladies team was Becky Money who gave her opponment Raymond Baker a run for his money.
There were two "180s" on the night, one by Sally Smith and the other by Tyra Baker ~ with a little help from the chalkers.
We endured plenty of lip from the ladies as they tried desparately to put us men of our stride, but it was all to no avail. We men came out evential winners, 12/4. But all joking aside it was a fantastic night enjoyed by all and hopefully it will become a regular event.  There are many people to thank, and thank them I do....you all know who you are who. I would however, personally like to thank Ken Tarbox for giving up his time to come along to take some photos of the event.
regards Alan Money (chairman)
