The perennial "Dog Show" drew a very large audience. This year the man with the unenviable job of deciding the catagory winners was East Garston Racehorse Trainer ~ Pat Murphy. Well done Pat.
Several weeks previously, a questionnaire had been sent out to every household regarding the village Parish Plan The collated results were on public display. This was the result of a 70% return of papers, so in consequence represented the vast majority of parishioners
Some rather chaotic children's races ensued ~ with all the runners thoroughly enjoying the moment.
It must be said that all our village youngsters appear to be fiercely competitive as they push every ounce of effort into winning.

With the Tug-O-War now complete just one more item remained ~ The raffle prize draw.

More than £3,000 was raised in support of community groups. In addition there was the social club bar and beer tent profits which go directly to the village hall and social club. The Shop reports three times normal Sunday sales, once again money back into the community. The committee would like to thank everyone for their support, in particular our donors and sponsors and those that contributed cakes and produce to the food tent. The committee also estimates that attendance was 50% up on last year, bolstered by the good weather and the attractions. Outsiders have complimented the village on our "community spirit".
