Wthin the marquee, and safely out of  reach of the rain, the children's fancy dress competition was in full swing. The theme of course was that of Kings and Queens. With the entrants dressed resplendantly in their royal attire, the event was truly, a most colourful affair.

 

 

Next on the agenda, a move into the Village Hall for what would be an integral part of the day's celebrations - the Children’s Jubilee lunch.  A superb free lunch provided by the village with the addition of a commemerative mug kindly given by East Garston Parish Council, to all the Parish chidren under the age of 18.

 

 

 

Back in the Marquee and Chris Tonge heads up the presentations for best decorated house

Pat and Di Murphy take over the airwaves with the presntation for the best 60th Cake competition.

 

 

Monday, 4th of June  at the Village Hall  7pm on the big screen the Jubilee Concert - Live TV coverage of the concert from Buckingham Palace with dancing, BBQ & bar. Unfortunately no photos have been offered covering these evening celebrations. However, The live Concert, broadcast from the Palace, was a huge success and became increasingly more colourful as darkness descended.

10-15pm on Lorne Hill - the lighting of the village beacon drew a fair number of residents out into the night air, signalling closure of  the national celebrations.   But we're not finished yet - This is East Garston after all.
