Jubilee Celebrations

Preparations for the Jubilee celebrations of 2002 here in East Garston had been at fever pitch for the two or three days prior to the actual event. The weather had been very accomodating to the organizers, allowing a mixed and varied programme of events to be arranged that was to include all age groups.

And so it was on a gloriously warm June day the whole community set out to enjoy one of those rather special major events that East Garston is so adept at "Putting On." For those in attendance, I hope these photos re-kindle many pleasant memories. For those new to the Village - Sorry - But this is just a taste of what you missed.

One of the more ambitious schemes was an idea that involved wrapping the Village Hall in Red White and Blue cloth. Fortunately for all of us it was excluded from the forthcoming "Best Decorated House Competition"
