The Village Fete

3rd September 2011

The Annual Village Fete was under partial new management this year, which included a venue switch from its normal home, to the garden of Sue and Freddie Tulloch at Parsonage Farm House. The weather was fairly kind to us and we saw no rain during the event, but the glorious wall to wall sunshine from two days previous deserted us fully. None the less, it was still a colourful affair as you will see.

PRODUCE and FLOWERS

Following on from the successful first Show last year, East Garston Allotment Association, again provided a colourful and varied array of of produce within the Marquee. The judges, for the second year running, were Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall, Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medallist and writer, and her husband, Robert, acknowledged by Jane as the real vegetable expert! They gave some honest feedback on the wares before them, and answered questions enthusiastically.

General refreshments were in constant demand,  but were ably met by a team of  friendly barstaff and BBQ chefs.
