In 2008, the fete organizers introduced a scarecrow competition to the proceedings which resulted in just three entries. This year however was a completely different story and there were in fact no less than twenty-three scarecrows for our two judges to meet and interview.

It was decided from the outset that there was to be no particular theme here, as it was considered more villagers would enter scarecrows if restrictions were minmal. A good battle plan that worked perfectly. Given the success, this is to become a yearly feature of fete day.
