The Social Club and Village Hall covering 2009 and 2010
East
Garston Social Club first opened in 1972, and was then just a single
games room attached to the southern side of the Village Hall .
The club has continued to develop, and across the years, has actively
encouraged, amongst other things, its own cricket & football teams.
In 1986 it was extended to provide a comfortable lounge and seating
area to complement the well stocked bar. The club boasts a full size
snooker table and offers a wide range of other activities, including
an outdoor annual summer dance. A management committee is responsible
for the day to day running of the social club, and they in turn work
hand in hand with the Village Hall trustees.
East Garston Social Club has, like all organisations, suffered its fair
share of ups and downs but thankfully, and many agree, just in time,
the current committee took up the remit, and under the Chairmanship
of Alan Money, its fortunes have been turned around in a most successful
way.
