Jon, one of our melodeon players, asked if we could visit his local pub, The Crown & Anchor in Ramsbury, which we were pleased to do in the afternoon of Sunday 7th August. Despite persistent heavy showers of rain we had a wonderful reception from the locals and we all had a brilliant time.

The landlady told us she thought it was the first time Morris dancers had performed there in the pub’s 250 year history. We met a very interesting gentleman who showed us some massive bells made at the nearby Aldbourne bell foundry – Jonathan decided his bells weren’t nearly big enough!
